about

These five tracks were all recorded around the same time in the early 2000's but are only now seeing the light of day. I'd been djing in the ambient/chill zones at some of New Zealand's biggest outdoor dance parties (The Gathering, Visionz) during this time and I was inspired by all the amazing music I'd heard.

The title track features a guy I met in Berlin telling me how he believes he has been abducted several times by aliens. I recorded his story on my phone. He's the only person I've ever known who's had this type of experience although I did met somebody at a party once who seemed fairly convinced that he and a couple of his friends saw a large mothership from a cliff off the West Coast of Auckland. The fact they'd all taken a large dose of liquid LSD at the time probably leaves some doubt as to whether it was a UFO or maybe just an interesting looking cloud. I also added in some quotes by Polish philosopher Henry Skolimowski whom I saw lecture in New Zealand one time. Check him out - he's quite amazing.

Vibrating into the Next Dimension is inspired by someone I met once outside a health food store and he told me about a very rare planetary alignment that was coming up where it would be possible to vibrate into the next dimension. He invited me over to participate with him and his fellow inter-dimensional travellers but unfortunately I had other plans that night. A few weeks later I saw him again on the street so I assume he didn't make it into the next dimension...

Spaced Out Monday refers to one Monday night when I got out five science fiction movies and invited over some friends. My flatmate cooked a delicious and, as it turned out, incredibly potent chocolate space cake (the kind that would be labeled "Super Zero Zero" if they were selling slices of it in a cafe in Amsterdam). Needless to say, we only made it half way through the first video.
