Dante Alighieri - Inferno

These four tracks feature musicians from three different bands that I recorded albums with in the early 2000's; Ishta, Dystopia and Peachy Keen. Sometimes at the end of a session I would ask them to have a go at one of my own projects. Originally the tracks were intended for the second Dystopia album but when that band broke up I decided to keep working on them for my solo project. For some reason it's taken me about twelve years to finally finish mixing these tracks.

For me these tracks represent three strong emotional states; anger/frustration/fear (A Forest Dark), sorrow (In Love with these Hills and Letting Go) and joy (Pushkar). I've always associated the first three pieces with a difficult breakup I had around that time so maybe that's why it's taken me 12 years to finish them. The reference to Dante's Inferno is a reflection on the fact that we can sometimes experience our own hell here on earth. Thanks to poet Liz Maw (from Dystopia) for the inspiration.
